Isle traffic spurs new DHX office
Citing increased air and sea traffic between Hawaii and Indonesia, Honolulu-based freight forwarder
Dependable Hawaiian Express has opened an office in the capital, Jakarta.
The new facility will handle ocean shipping for both container loads and break bulk cargo. The company also will operate an air freight service for all weight breaks between Hawaii and Indonesia .
It is the company's 10th terminal owned and operated in Asia and the South Pacific.
"With the Indonesian economy expanding and its population enjoying a higher standard of living, the nation of 200 million people is becoming more receptive to quality Hawaiian agricultural products like pineapples and coffee," Kane McEwen, general manager of the Honolulu office, said in a statement.
