University of Hawaii track and field star Annett Wichmann has another year of eligibility. She came to UH as a partial qualifier, but regained her senior season of eligibility, per NCAA rules, by completing 80 percent of her coursework toward a degree last year.

"We're very excited to have her for another year," UH track and field coach Carmyn James said.

Wichmann finished sixth in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championship last spring with a school-record 5,670 points.

She has won the heptathlon all three times in the WAC Outdoor Championships, and two pentathlon golds in the WAC Indoor Championship to go with a silver.

Wichmann helped UH to its best team finish of 25th place in the NCAA tournament this year.
