Hawaii Public Radio debuts political shows

Hawaii Public Radio launches its election series of talk shows and debates tonight with the debut of "On Politics," a call-in discussion program hosted by Beth Ann Kozlovich.

The guests are Kevin Cronin, the state's chief election officer, and representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties. The program airs from 5 to 6 p.m. on KIPO 89.3 FM.

Coming up on KIPO: At 5 p.m. Thursday, Kozlovich hosts a "Town Square" program on the Constitutional Convention with guests Peter Kay, Jim Shon and Ira Rohter.

Makaha Sons show postponed

The Makaha Sons' performance at Bishop Museum on Thursday has been postponed due to singer John Koko's illness.

Koko is recovering at Kaiser Hospital from a heart procedure. A spokeswoman said the group should be able to resume performing at the end of August.

Thursday's "Moonlight Mele" concert at the museum will be rescheduled.

‘Selling on eBay’ topic of KCC class

Small-business owners who'd like to take advantage of online bidding can learn the basics at "Selling on eBay," from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 20 at Kapiolani Community College.

The class is meant to provide a platform to start or expand a business, with topics ranging from account setup to shipping with the U.S. Postal Service.
