A funnel cloud formed over Central Oahu yesterday, the result of unstable weather conditions that also produced heavy showers around the state. The National Weather Service expected similar conditions this afternoon. Funnel clouds are a rare phenomenon consisting of condensed water droplets spinning in a rotating column of air. This photo was taken at 5:26 p.m. from the 11th floor of an apartment building at Ward Avenue and Kinau Street on the slopes of Punchbowl Crater.
