McKinley graduates earn scholarships
The
McKinley High School Foundation has awarded 54 scholarships to this year's graduates, totaling $78,250, the largest amount it has bestowed since beginning the scholarship program in 1990.
Wai Yan Lam received the Alexander & Baldwin Inc./Robert J. Pfeiffer Community Scholarship of $4,250; Irene Ma, the Jack Tsui Scholarship, $2,500; Donna Mizuba, Eva Mak, Jin Yang Huang and Andrew Nishi, the Hung Wo & Elizabeth Lau Ching Foundation Scholarship, $2,500.
Lai Hung Lam won the Wong Family Scholarship, $2,000; Alexia Kwok, the Panda Travel/Henry Lau Scholarship, $2,000; Eric Wu, Class of 1954 Scholarship, $1,000; Lina Le, Jericho Lopez, Hui Mei Shi, Tsun Yeung Tsang and Lisa Wu, Carole Kai Charities scholarships of $1,000.
Foundation Scholarships: Mimi Hang received $3,500; Daniel Lee and Naomi Liang, $3,000; Iris Kim, Alex Wright, $2,750; Wei Lin, $2,500; John Paik, $2,000; Travis Hishinuma, Angeline Woo, Tom Shek, Zhen Ning Luo, John Michael Barayuga and Angeline Phouksouvath, $1,500; Susan Wong, Helen Chang, Jack Ho, Anna Lee, Roger Shek, Amy Yang, Lei Cheung, Yoo Jung Han, Kai Xuan Huang, Taryn Anne Sakumoto and Erwin Young, $1,000; Li Bo, Philip Chan, Jasmine Chang, Connie Choi, Derek Chun, Niccole Griffin, Richard Ho, Manhattan Ishimi, Cindy Kang, Sandra Kaonohi, Jack Lam, Britney Maglaya, Matthew Tavares, Philip Troung, Geena Wann and Cara Yim, $750.
