Cruises and beaches offer prime fireworks viewing
Enjoy fireworks by land or by sea during Fourth of July celebrations this week.
Star of Honolulu is offering fireworks cruises Thursday and Friday. On Thursday the vessel departs from Aloha Tower Marketplace, Pier 8, for an 8:30-to-10 p.m. cruise that offers views of the fireworks show at Aloha Tower Marketplace and along the Waikiki Coastline.
Friday's Fourth of July Cocktail, Hawaiian Music and Fireworks cruise runs from 7:45 to 9:15 p.m., also departing from Pier 8. Start with a champagne toast, dance to live Hawaiian music and enjoy the fireworks and city lights from the water.

Those who choose to do their viewing on land should arrive early at Ala Moana Beach Park to see Ala Moana Center's 20-minute fireworks show, starting at 8:30 p.m. Friday. There will also be seating on the center's makai-Ewa parking deck.
