Volunteers Scot Shimamura and Carolyn Pace from the Aloha Chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association applied primer to a house in Waimanalo yesterday. The four-bedroom, two-bath house has been gradually coming together over the past 15 weeks with the help of volunteers and support from Habitat for Humanity. A family of six, the Gallardes, hopes to be living in the home by August.

People took in award-winning koi specimens yesterday at the Ohana Koi and Goldfish Show held at Kalani High School. The event was sponsored by the Hawaii Goldfish and Carp Association.
