Pete Young pulled his bicycle off the rack yesterday at the bus stop at the corner of King and Punchbowl streets. He was headed farther, to Kakaako, but the bus became so crowded that he decided to get off and pedal the rest of the way. Even though fuel costs have been rising, city officials are not planning to increase fares for the growing number of riders.
