Students in video-production classes statewide participated in a program to document Hawaii's mom-and-pop restaurants and other small establishments with close community ties.
Their work will be showcased in the Kalo Awards ceremony, to be broadcast at 9 p.m. today on KHON/Fox, following the "American Idol" finale.
