An Oahu grand jury indicted Patrick W. Deguair Jr. yesterday on charges of second-degree murder, kidnapping and firearm violations in the execution-style murder of a home-invasion robbery suspect whose body was found last month near Yokohama Bay.

Deguair, 30, remains in custody in lieu of $1 million bail.

Yesterday's grand jury indictment also charges Aryss Kamai, 22, with drug and drug paraphernalia possession and being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition. Kamai remains free on $50,000 bail.

Deputy City Prosecutor Vickie Kapp said Kamai was the registered guest of the hotel room at Pagoda Hotel & Terrace where police arrested him and Deguair on Thursday. She said police found crystal methamphetamine, or "ice," two pipes and ammunition in the room.

The indictment also indicates that Deguair and Kamai face extended prison sentences if they are convicted.

Tourists found the body of Jermaine Duckworth with a gunshot wound to the back of his head on rocks below a cliff near Keawaula Beach, also known as Yokohama Bay beach.
