It was an emotional moment for Hula Halau 'O Kamuela last night as they were announced the winners of the 2008 Merrie Monarch Festival. Among those celebrating were Kanoe Kepa, left with the back of his head showing, Kristen Yamamoto, Kristen Nakamoto and Diamond Colello. The halau, directed by kumu hula Kau'ionalani Kamana'o and Kunewa Mook, repeated as winners in the kahiko and 'auana divisions, and the halau took the overall winner honors by just a single point.
