Tropical fruits flavor the iced tea at Pacific Place Tea Garden. Awapuhi Ginger Berry Float ($4.25) is one such refreshment.

Ala Moana Center Upper Level / 944-2004

The shopaholics among us will no doubt be spending a lot of time at the center with all the events going on surrounding the debut of Nordstrom and more than a dozen new shops Friday.

For those checking out the new spring merchandise there will be much to see, though all that browsing can be exhausting.

Refreshment is a stroll away at the Pacific Place Tea Garden where you can sip refreshing iced teas flavored with tropical fruit nectars, served straight up or if you wish, with a single or double scoop of sorbet ($3.50/4.95).

Matcha green tea latte can be served hot or cold at $4.45 regular sized, or $4.95 large.

Sweet treats include brownies, lilikoi pastries and light macaroons.

For those who need more sustenance, there are sandwiches ($5.95) such as smoked tuna salad with Jarlsberg cheese, roasted red pepper and organic spinach, turkey pesto with Jarlsberg, organic spinach and sun-dried tomato, and a ham and Swiss with caramelized onions and avocado. Any of them will hit the spot.
