About 150 students from Oahu high schools challenged each other Saturday in the 19th Annual Hawaii Physics Olympics & Regional Bridge Building Contest at the University of Hawaii. The events were designed and run by undergraduate students from UH-Manoa, Kapiolani Community College and Brigham Young University-Hawaii.

Lynsey Overstreet of Sacred Hearts Academy ran to retrieve her ball after shooting it with a slingshot to knock over plastic bottles. Students from McKinley High School and Sacred Hearts watched, cheered and got a good laugh during the competition.

Kaimuki High students Tiffany Maegawa, Cassie Lorrin, Jennifer Kua and Sandra Garganta tried to drop balls into a moving cup in the Aerial Strike competition.
