Nicole Asato, 7, performed with the Hawai Eisa Shinyuu Kai Okinawan bon dance troupe Saturday at the Aloha Koi Show, held over the weekend at McKinley High School. The event, hosted by the Aloha Koi Appreciation Society, featured an exhibition of approximately 200 entries of show-quality Japanese carp known as nishikigoi, free entertainment, food and informational booths. A 32-inch-long kin ki utsuri named Chubbs led the way for other nishikigoi in a display tank. The 7-year-old koi measures 25 inches around, weighs approximately 20 pounds and is owned by James and Joan Kinney, who began collecting nishikigoi last September.
