Nagamine named HPU soccer coach
Michele Nagamine has been named Hawaii Pacific University's new women's soccer coach, the school announced yesterday.
Nagamine had served as head coach of the Kamehameha girls team since 1993, winning five Interscholastic League of Honolulu titles and four state championships. She was recently named the 2007 National High School Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association.
Nagamine takes over for Mark Kane, who served 12 years as the Sea Warriors' coach.

Lucas Alves scored 14 points to power Brigham Young-Hawaii to a 55-41 men's basketball victory over Notre Dame de Namur last night in Belmont, Calif.
