Warriors wipe out
Sweet season ends on a sour note in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS » Those who thought Hawaii belonged on the same field with Georgia quickly discovered otherwise in last night's 41-10 Allstate Sugar Bowl shellacking before 74,383 boisterous fans packed into the Superdome.

The Bulldogs made a statement for not being invited to the national championship game and took it out on the Warriors in one of the more thorough whippings in the postseason.
Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan was lucky to get off the field with his head attached as Georgia's front seven dominated the line of scrimmage, sacking him eight times, and leaving June Jones' run-and-shoot in shambles.
Not since the Warriors were beat by USC 63-17 in Brennan's first game in 2005 has Hawaii looked so ineffective. By the time the third quarter ended, Georgia's fans were chanting, "O-ver-rated, O-ver-rated" and there was nothing anyone could do to argue that statement.
Georgia's Knowshon Moreno and Thomas Brown combined for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and sophomore quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for another to complement a defensive effort that included a fumble recovery by the Bulldogs' Marcus Howard in the end zone off a sack of Brennan to punctuate the win.
Brennan was knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter and Tyler Graunke came off the bench to promptly lead the Warriors to their only touchdown of the game. Several times the defense turned back the Bulldogs, including after UH gave up a 90-yard kickoff return, but it wasn't enough, as Georgia handed Hawaii its only loss of the season.
It dropped Hawaii to 12-1.
