The historic Marks Estate on Old Pali Road in Nuuanu opens its doors for a benefit for Ballet Hawaii on Saturday.

The "Return to Elegance" fundraiser takes as its theme the "Great Gatsby" Era, celebrating estate owner Douglas Himmelfarb's efforts to restore the property to house his art collection.

Himmelfarb, president of the Gardenia Society of America, has also landscaped the estate gardens with an international variety of plants.

The evening will include entertainment by Jimmy Borges with big-band music for dancing. Formal wear is suggested, but guests are also encouraged to seek out vintage attire. Tickets are $300. Call 395-7216.
