Free workshop set to discuss aging

A free "Aging in Place" workshop and exhibit will be held by the Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Garden Lanai Ballroom at the Ala Moana Hotel.

The event celebrates National Aging in Place Week this month with experts presenting information and resources to support people aging at home. It is designed for seniors, family and informal caregivers, baby boomers and others planning for long-term care needs. Information will be presented on different in-home services, financing options and other support services.

Exhibitors include AARP, the Alzheimer's Association, Adult Day Services Hawaii, Catholic Charities Hawaii, Child and Family Services/Honolulu Gerontology, and Comforting Hands Hawaii.
