Entrepreneurs fund community outreach
The
Entrepreneurs Foundation of Hawaii gave $5,000 to
Family Promise of Hawaii to support its newsletter, Web site and community outreach programs.
Waste Management of Hawaii gave the Hawaii Foodbank $7,000, which will be used to buy 30,000 pounds of rice for Leeward Coast residents.
The Honolulu Fire Department promoted the following to Fire Fighter III: James K. Apana, Keoki K. Kaalele, Robin A. Matsuda, Timothy H. Caires, Kevin K. Kahale, Edward I. Millerd, Lance-Ray M. Gaspar, Randal T. Kong, Scott D.O. Oshiro, Mark J. Inay and Randall N. Lindsey.
In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Center on Disability Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa gave awards to three organizations for outstanding support for Asian Americans and Pacific islanders with disabilities: Communications Pacific, the Hale Koa Hotel and Kaiser Permanente. Hire Abilities-Hawaii, a CDS project, also received an award.
