America comes to town
Star-Bulletin staff
The vocal duo America -- Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell -- is enjoying a bit of a revival right now. They have a new album, "Here and Now," filled with guest stars, and they're recent inductees into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. America was especially popular in Hawaii in the '70s for such memorable tunes as "A Horse With No Name," "Sister Golden Hair," "Ventura Highway" and "Tin Man."
All of this is buildup for America's upcoming concert Nov. 27 at the Blaisdell Arena. Tickets go on sale 9 a.m. Saturday at the Blaisdell Center box office, all Ticketmaster outlets including Times Supermarkets, charge-by-phone at (877) 750-4400, and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
