KGMB jumps into morning news fray
The local television morning news field gets another entry starting Monday bright and early at 5, with the debut of "Sunrise on KGMB9."
Steve Uyehara and Grace Lee step up in newsroom position to become the personable co-anchors. They'll be joined by meteorologist Jeff Booth (coming from the weekend casts) and reporters Ramsay Wharton and Howard Dicus.
Other contributors will include Malika Dudley and her "Hawaii's Super Kids" segments, Hawaiian 105 KINE radio personality Billy V and, formerly with KSSK radio and now living in Hollywood, Calif., Mike Evans and his reports from Tinsel Town.
The show's title pays homage to the first live TV news program back in 1952, and the original hosts of "Sunrise" will join the new team during Monday's debut.
"Sunrise on KGMB9" will include real-time closed captioning as well.
