SUITE: STEPHEN STILLS: "Woodstock," "Love the One You're With," "For What It's Worth" and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" were among the highlights when Stephen Stills, center, closed his 2007 tour with a two-hour concert for a sold-out crowd at the Hawaii Theatre on Friday. Stills emphasized his solo acoustic repertoire through most of the first set before his band members came out and joined him on a powerful rendition of "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes." Bassist Kenny Passarelli, left, and drummer Joe Vitale continued to provide solid support when Stills switched to electric guitar and played for another hour after intermission.

A $200 MILLION MAN: Party planner Sana Poma greeted Nova Group exec Tim Couch as he arrived at his "Aloha 'Oe" party at the Ocean Club on Tuesday. Couch leaves Monday for three years in Taiwan as the contracts manager for a $200 million Parsons Brinckerhoff project.

WHAT WOULD WILL SAY? James Iha, left, Danielle Vivarttas-Ahrnsbrak, Mark Gilbert and Elizabeth Wolfe celebrated Saturday after the Hawaii Shakespeare Festival production of "Taming of the Shrew" played to a full house at Marks Garage. Gilbert and Wolfe were well matched as the leads, but director Linda Johnson's ill-advised decision to change the gender of some characters, cast women as men in others and have Vivarttas-Ahrnsbrak play Bianca as a spoiled brat took excessive liberties with the play.

ANOTHER "HOT SUMMER NIGHT": Red Bull rep Kevin Yen welcomed Malia Song, left, Miiko Akamine and Lara Lasher to his table in the VIP section at Russell Tanoue's "Hot Summer Nights" party at Chai's Island Bistro on Saturday. It had rained earlier in the evening, but hardy souls who took the risk found clear skies and a heavy pupu buffet at Chai's. Song says she's home from California "for a while." Lasher is working on a new yoga show for a local television station.

A ROACH TO REMEMBER: Laura Kistner Mellow, left, Candes Meijide Gentry, Kristen Killian, Tracy Clarkin and Shay Reiner compared notes Sunday at "Salud!" -- a combination art sale, "wine gala" and fiesta fundraiser for the Honolulu Academy of Arts' "Ambassador" and "Art to Go" programs. Mellow, Clarkin and Reiner were captivated by artist Vincent Hazen's "Carmel Cockroach" but were told, alas, that they couldn't pose for a photo with it.
