Okimoto named Buffanblu coach

Michael Okimoto has been named head softball coach at Punahou, athletic director Tom Holden announced yesterday. Okimoto is a former state-championship coach at Mililani (2005), and also won five Oahu Interscholastic Association championships with the Trojans.

Okimoto replaces Kara Nishimura, who stepped down due to schedule conflicts with her job at the Hawaii sports information department.
