Jasmine Perri greeted the Stylistics moments before they went on stage for "Soul Jam" at the Blaisdell Arena on Sunday. The Stylistics -- Harold Brown, left, Herb Murrell, Van Fields and Airron Love -- were a perfect choice as headliners for a show that included the Main Ingredient with Cuba Gooding Sr., the Blue Notes, the Three Degrees, the Delfonics and the Chi-Lites. Their 63-minute set included Top 10 hits -- "Betcha by Golly, Wow" and "I'm Stone in Love with You," to name two -- and their first-ever charted song, "You're a Big Girl Now," which peaked at No. 73 in 1971. Phil and Dawn Keat enjoyed the music of Bluzilla at "Reds, Whites and Blues," a benefit for the Arthritis Foundation of Hawaii, at Aloha Tower on Saturday. Danel Verdugo and Chris Doi watched from the upstairs VIP area as the Shins played an impressive 90-minute set Monday for a sold-out crowd at Pipeline Cafe. Verdugo said she had no idea the Po'okela Awards were that same night -- let alone that she might win one. (She did, for her performance as Little Sally in "Urinetown" at Manoa Valley Theatre.)
