Fashion photographer Russell Tanoue, second from left, celebrated his birthday with an early evening cocktail party at E&O Trading Company for a few dozen close friends and associates on July 8. MidWeek Managing Editor Yu Shing Ting, left, Lt. Andy Baldwin of "The Bachelor" and Juliet Lighter were among those who made the scene. Baldwin will co-host Tanoue's 11th Annual Birthday Project Fundraiser, "Pink & Black," a public celebration, at E&O Trading on Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the Aloha Medical Mission and Project Shine. Tickets are available at E&O Trading and at www.russelltanoue.com. CLICK FOR LARGE

Mrs. Hawaii 2007 Nadine Wise, left, attended the party with her daughter, Miss Hawaii USA 2007 Chanel Wise. The two made history when Nadine was crowned Mrs. Hawaii a few months after Chanel won her title; it was the first time a mother and daughter won major pageant titles in Hawaii in the same year. Nadine co-hosted Chanel's send-off fundraiser party in March, and Chanel will be doing the same for her mother's party at Rumours on July 25. Call 391-4554. CLICK FOR LARGE

Slopes of Diamond Head members Kyle Mitsumori, left, Stephanie L.C. Ching and Donna Chun talked story with enigmatic man-about-town Lance Rae. Someone asked Rae if he'd like to have "a seat on the bar," and so that's where he sat -- on the bar. CLICK FOR LARGE
