Embassy Suites thinks about kids

Travel planning is always about what the "old" people want, and why should that be when so many families arrive in Hawaii with kids in tow?

A few of the kid-approved attractions listed for Waikiki includes

» Best family outing: Sea Life Park

» Best educational activity: Honolulu Zoo

» Best outdoor activity: Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park

» Best shopping: Ala Moana Shopping Center

» Best burger: Dave & Buster's

» Best ice cream: Cold Stone Creamery

The kids have spoken.

Embassy Suites Hotels has addressed this oversight through its Kids-Eye View kid concierge program that directs families to kid-friendly destinations in 36 North American cities.

This involved interviewing thousands of children from across North America -- yes, that includes Canada and Mexico -- to find out their favorite things to do in their own cities, and published their responses in a travel guide created by kids for kids.

All activities have been compiled into city-specific, large stickers that are pasted into Kids Eye View Passports given to all kids upon arrival. The colorful, full-size passport has a place for a picture and kid-friendly information.

For reservations at Embassy Suites-Waikiki Beach Walk, at 201 Beachwalk, call (800) EMBASSY (362-2779).
