Lunalilo Home gets OHA grant for repairs
Lunalilo Home, the oldest adult care home in Hawaii, received a $24,999 grant from the
Office of Hawaiian Affairs for repairs. The 42-unit care home, on five acres at Koko Head in Hawaii Kai, is exclusively for clients of native Hawaiian ancestry.
Lunalilo Home marked its 124th year of operation in April.
Iolani School is one of eight school teams across the nation named a finalist in the national Economics Challenge Competition, sponsored by the National Council on Economic Education and Goldman Sachs Foundation. The final contest will be held Monday in New York City.
Hawaii Pacific University honored three outstanding alumni at its seventh annual Paul C.T. Loo Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony. They are:
Barbara K. Ideta (B.S.N. 1989), who received the Professional Achievement Award for her leadership in the health care industry; Ralf Mitteregger (M.B.A. Information Systems 2002), the Alumni Service Award, for service to the community and HPU; and Evan Leong (B.S.A. 2001), the Young Alumni Award, for being an outstanding role model for future alumni.
