Irons moves on to quarters in Tahiti
Andy Irons of Kauai defeated fellow local surfer Pancho Sullivan in the fourth round of the Billabong Pro yesterday in Tahiti. The three-time ASP world champion advanced to the quarterfinals, where he will take on Australia's Joel Parkinson.
The Billabong Pro is the third stop on the Fosters Men's ASP World Tour, and includes the world's top 45 surfers along with three wild cards. The event runs at the dangerous left-hand breaking wave, Teahupoo, approximately 1 kilometer off shore on a shallow reef pass.
