A candlelight prayer vigil was held last night at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on University Avenue to remember the victims of last week's shootings on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Three-year-old Kailani Santos disposed of a cigarette butt yesterday morning with the help of her mother, Teri, at Sandy Beach park during the E Malama I Ka Wai Ola cleanup. Dozens of people of all ages wore rubber gloves and swept the beach and park areas for litter and cigarette butts.
