Neiman provides breakfast, gifts for Make-A-Wish kids

NEIMAN MARCUS was host to Make-A-Wish children and their families, 100 people, Saturday morning for a Breakfast with Santa in the store's Mariposa restaurant. "These youngsters face some serious medical challenges," said Neiman G.M. Al Tomonari. "Our whole store family gets behind this event and collects toys for each child attending." The group also was treated to a Christmas program by Diamond Head Theatre's Shooting Stars and Santa posed for pictures with the kids ... "A Merry Christmas with Friends and Nabors," Jim Nabors 10th and final gift to benefit the Hawaii Theatre Center, will be presented at the theater Dec. 15-17. This is a big, professional show with top local and mainland performers and creative artists. Jim has never taken a dime for his services. Whatta guy! ... The Star-Bulletin and MidWeek hold their Christmas party Saturday at E&O Trading Company ... Charlie Beeck, who heads Tropical Roofing & Raingutters, holds his soiree Monday at the Bistro at Century Center ... Bistro owner Jackie Takeshita threw a party in the restaurant for employees Monday ... Gary Kondo, Hawaii Dental Group president, tossed his group's bash at Alan Wong's Pineapple Room Saturday ...

BYRON YASUI has released a ukulele album. The title track, "Anahola," is a song he composed for his niece, Ronnie Lynn Lemn, of Anahola, Kauai ... Sorry to learn former Advertiser columnist Tom Horton, 66, died of lung cancer Nov. 26 at his San Francisco home. He was a good columnist and a good guy ...

Celebrities to appear at Marathon Expo

KELLY HU, Yunjin Kim and Naveen Andrews will sign free pictures at the Marathon Expo at the Hawaii Convention Center Friday and Saturday. Yunjin is booked Friday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Kelly on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Naveen on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. ... I'm having surgery on my feet today so there won't be any Wood Craft until early January and it also means I won't be running the marathon Sunday. Ho, ho, ho. I was just joking about running the marathon. I have trouble running across the street, even when my tootsies are in top shape. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all ...
