Central Pacific Bank makes donations to Catholic Charities, Kokua Kalihi Valley

Central Pacific Bank donated $5,000 to Catholic Charities Hawaii and Kokua Kalihi Valley for the C.A.T.C.H. (Citizens Against Troublemakers and Criminals in Hawaii) Fund Award. The bank has thus far contributed more than $74,000 to the program in honor of the KSSK "Posse" radio program, donating $1,000 to the fund each time a criminal incident is resolved, based on what residents report seeing or hearing.

Catholic Charities will build a community playground for Ka Hale O Kawaihae, a transitional housing program and homeless shelter in West Hawaii. Kokua Kalihi Valley will transform 10 acres of a former dumping ground into its community Gardening Pavilion, a nature park with native plants, natural springs and loi (taro patches) for local families.

Junior Achievement of Hawaii received a $2,000 grant from the Atherton Family Foundation. JA was founded in 1957 to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics.

» Community Links Hawaii was given $5,000 by the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation to expand its office administrative support services to other nonprofit organizations in Hawaii.
