3 arrested this week in sexual assaults
One man is charged after police say he flew here to see a girl he met online
A Florida man who met a 15-year-old Oahu girl in an Internet chat room flew to Honolulu and allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, police said yesterday.
Anthony Waterman, 33, of Destin, Fla., was arrested and later charged with sexual assault.
He was being held in Oahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $250,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
His arrest was one of three in Honolulu this week involving adult men accused of sexually assaulting juveniles.
According to court records, the 15-year-old girl told police she met Waterman online and later talked with him by cellular telephone. On Nov. 12, the girl said, Waterman traveled to Hawaii to meet her.
The girl told police that on Sunday Waterman invited her to his rented motel room in Kaneohe where he sexually assaulted her, according to court records.
The girl reported the incident to her parents that day and was interviewed by police on Monday.
She showed police a picture of Waterman she had taken of him with her cellular telephone.
Honolulu police stopped Waterman at Honolulu Airport on Tuesday and arrested him for first-degree sexual assault. Police charged him Thursday with six counts of first-degree sexual assault and five counts of third-degree sexual assault.
Police also charged two other men Thursday with sexual assaults in separate cases involving juveniles.
Junius Hans, 22, of Palolo is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree sexual assault involving a 15-year-old girl. And Stanton Kauhane, 44, of Wahiawa is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.
A 15-year-old girl told police she went with Hans and a group of males in a car to the Mapunapuna area Sept. 29 where they drank beer and smoked marijuana, according to court records. The girl said Hans, whom she knew as Jolie, assaulted her at about 2 a.m. Sept. 30 when she went to the back seat of the car to rest.
Police arrested Hans at his home Wednesday. His bail is $25,000.
The charges involving Kauhane stem from three incidents reported by the victim between Sept. 9 and 23, police said. The alleged incidents occurred in Wahiawa.
Police arrested Kauhane at his home Wednesday on two contempt warrants and later booked him for sexual assault at the Honolulu Police Department's Wahiawa Station. His bail is $200,000. No other information was available.
