Mohr’s nightclub Pearl gets ready to shine

AFTER MONTHS of anticipation (and construction delays), it finally looks like Beau Mohr is ready to introduce his new nightclub.

Pearl will open to the public next Friday, although a few lucky people will get a sneak peek before everyone else. Local media and VIP guests will fill the place on Tuesday, while the Hawaii Women's Business Center's charity fundraiser will take place on Wednesday.

At a cost of more than $2 million, the club features three separate seating areas and is being billed as "Nightlife Reimagined." Mohr worked with award-winning Eastern Audio Works to install a sound system for the 5,435-square-foot space in Ala Moana's Ho'okipa Terrace, while Light Systems' Ryan Harada provided a state-of-the-art lighting setup.

And if all that isn't enough to spark your interest in Pearl, there are the cocktails developed by Southern Wine and Spirits' Francesco Lafranconi. As national director of SWS' Academy of Spirits and Fine Service, the master mixologist has developed cocktails for some of the most upscale venues around the world. He's the one behind Wynn Las Vegas' signature drink menu and the training of its 700 employees.

Pearl will be open seven days a week following the grand opening, with a $10 cover charge in effect on the weekends. Check out www.pearlhawaii.com for more ...
