A performance by Alison Maldonado, left, added a touch of show biz to the monthly Piranha Room fundraiser at the Ocean Club on Aug. 26. Maldonado, who talked afterward with Ocean Club "crew member" Papi, HyperSquad dance instructor Glenna Nakamura and Juliet Lighter, will star in Diamond Head Theatre's "Thoroughly Modern Millie" Sept. 22. Shelly Alvior and Crystal Ueno enjoyed the party as Valerie Joseph and SMART Magazine introduced Maui designer Samantha Howard's Wings Hawaii line at the Valerie Joseph Boutique on Aug. 26. For more on Howard's designs, visit www.wingshawaii.com. CLICK FOR LARGE

Publisher Emily Lopez, right, celebrated the third anniversary of IN Magazine at Zanzabar last Tuesday. IN staffers, friends and celebrities enjoyed pupus and a chance for some serious door prizes -- one took home a $2,000 bracelet, another won a small couch. Heather Olsen, left, Madeliene Noa, Alex Maehara and Brenda Garospe congratulated Lopez in the VIP room. CLICK FOR LARGE

Fendi celebration:

Franco Ureno, left, Fendi regional merchandiser for the West Coast and Hawaii, was an unobtrusive guest when Patrick Gey, Fendi's Hawaii general manager, hosted a preview of the Fendi Fall/Winter 2006 collection on Thursday. Model Leah Baker, second from left, wore an elaborate pleated gown by Karl Largenfeld, Ying Ying looked fabulous in a white shaved mink jacket, and Marissa Gey wore a chinchilla jacket over a knee-length Largenfeld dress. Light pupus by Francesco Valentini, champagne and sparkling water made the show a party. CLICK FOR LARGE

Blossom Lam Hoffman, left, Elisa Dulce and Karen Asato watched the Honolulu Broadway Babies fundraiser from the upper level of the Hawaii Theatre on Aug. 26. Jay Pierce's powerful rendition of "Bui Doi" from "Miss Saigon" was the most impressive performance, but a comic "dueling divas" number by Kristian Lee and Lutisha Manganag was also excellent.
