Boys get their wish to meet with ‘Dog’ and Beth Chapman

The Make-a-Wish program made wishes come true for Derrick D.J. Barnby, 6, and Steven Eltz, 15, to visit with Duane "Dog" and Beth Chapman Thursday. D.J. was dressed as "Dog Jr." Wheelchair-bound Steven has a crush on Beth. The boys will also appear on a "Bounty Hunter" program with the Chapmans. Jackie's Kitchen invited the youngsters and their families to have lunch before the meeting with the stars. Make-a-Wish makes wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions ...

The Halekulani is presenting an evening with Hawaii filmmaker Edgy Lee Sept. 7, 6:30 to 9 p.m. The $45 ticket includes a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception, excerpts of Lee's film's, discussions and live music. "Edgy is truly passionate about Hawaii and its history and we value her respected craft of filmmaking," said Halekulani G.M. Janis Claphoff. Birthday cheer

Kimberly Clark, a former rodeo performer, shared her birthday celebration yesterday on Maui with her sister, Cindy Clark, and friend Kim Medeiros. Cindy, a former Miss Hawaii Rodeo, had a birthday Aug. 4, and Kim, CIA Model Agency owner, marks hers on Sept. 12. So they celebrate together for at least a month. Another star in the Clark galaxy is the sisters' mom, Debbie Clark. Cindy says Debbie is Hawaii's only licensed woman plumber. Debbie has owned Angel's Plumbing for 30 years. The North Shore Clarks ride motorcycles. Cindy, an accountant, competes in dirt-bike events ... Sorry to learn of the Aug. 18 death of Margaret R. Nicholson, 81, mom of attorney Jim Nicholson, a former football star at St. Louis High, Michigan State University and with the Kansas City Chiefs ...
