Dreaming in Raku
The members of the lodestar collective were inspired by this year's Raku Hoolaulea and put together a show of raku works and works "inspired by the beauty and spirit of raku" for their gallery in Kailua. "I dream in raku" runs through Saturday.
Some of the works on display actually won awards at the annual hoolaulea at Waimanalo Beach Park (the juried show will have its run at The ARTS at Marks Garage Wednesday through July 29). Daven Hee and Carol Pao took second place and honorable mention, respectively.
Although "i dream in raku" ends Saturday, KC Grennan and Hee will present new, collaborative ceramic pieces on July 9 during Kailua's "Second Sunday Art Walk" from 2 to 5 p.m.
Lodestar collective is located at 438-A Uluniu St. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays to Sundays. Call 262-4606.
