5 OIA schools to hold fundraising dinner

Former Hawaii athletic director Hugh Yoshida is the honorary chair for the "A Taste for Athletes" fundraising dinner on Aug. 20.

The event will benefit five high schools from the Oahu Interscholastic Association: Aiea, Leilehua, Moanalua, Radford, and Waialua. Funds raised will be used for scholarships and to purchase athletic equipment.

Many award-winning chefs will provide the food, including Alan Wong and Roy Yamaguchi.

Tickets are $100. Sponsor tables are available at $2,000, $3,500 and $5,000.

Tinman Triathlon entry deadline coming up

The deadline to enter the Tinman Triathlon is July 10.

The 800-meter swim, 40-kilometer bike ride, 10-kilometer run race starts at 5:45 a.m. at Queen's Beach in Waikiki on July 23.

Entry forms are also available at most running and bike stores or at www.tinmanhawaii.com.

Online registration will be accepted until July 12.

The entry fee is $115 for individuals and $140 for teams. For more information, call 595-5317 or 596-0588.

Hawaii Rainbow baseball camps in July

Hawaii Rainbow baseball camps will be held July 7-9 and July 14-16 at Les Murakami Stadium.

The camps are open to players ages 7-18. The pitcher or catcher camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon, the hitting camp from 1-4 p.m.

The cost is $120 per camp, $200 for both pitcher/catcher and hitting camps.
