Satele on Outland Watch List

Hawaii center Samson Satele is one of 54 football players on the Outland Trophy watch list. The trophy is given annually to the nation's top offensive lineman. Three other players with Hawaii ties -- Oregon's Enoka Lucas (Kamehameha), Oregon State's Jeremy Perry (Kahuku) and Utah's Tavo Tupola (Kahuku) -- are also on the list.

In addition, UH's Ikaika Alama-Francis has been named to the Ted Hendricks Award (nation's top defensive end) watch list.

Maekawa, Nakao tied in USGA junior qualifier

Sean Maekawa and Alex Nakao are tied for the lead at 5-over 77 going into today's second of two rounds in the USGA Junior Qualifier at Turtle Bay Resort's Palmer Course.

The winner today advances to the USGA Junior Championship at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club in California, July 16-22.

Nick Shimozaki, Reo Saito and TJ Kua are three strokes back.

Island Movers baseball games are free

The Hawaii Island Movers will not charge admission to their games at Les Murakami Stadium this year.

Donations will be accepted at the gate.

The Movers open their summer scheduled today at 5 p.m. with a doubleheader against the Hawaii All Stars.
