28 people can enjoy Indigo wine tasting

William Gladstone Imports and Indigo restaurant will host a wine-tasting event at Indigo at 8 p.m. on June 29. Seating is limited to 28 guests, so be sure to make reservations. The cost is $46 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and includes light pupus by chef Glenn Chu. Call 521-2900.

Foodbank fundraiser honors 25th Infantry

Hawaii's Foodbank's 11th annual Patriots Celebration salutes the Army's 25th Infantry Division on June 30 with a fundraising dinner. Entertainment includes patriotic and 1940s-era tunes by Shari Lynn and Fascinatin' Rhythm and the Savoy Sisters.

Maj. Gen. Benjamin Mixon, commander of the 25th Infantry Division, will be the keynote speaker.

Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m. in the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Coral Ballroom, followed by dinner at 7 p.m., a program and entertainment. All tables seat 10.

Bali by the Sea serves special fish

Through July 1, Chef Adam Hightower of Bali by the Sea at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa will feature kampachi, a Big Island-grown fish known for its omega-3 content.

Kampachi sushi, ceviche and hand rolls will be some of the appetizers available, along with a variety of unique entrees. The "Bali Style" entree, for example, is an orange miso-glazed kampachi served with truffled green lentils, marinated tomatoes and a Big Island heart of palm salad with orange-mango vinaigrette. Appetizers cost $11 to $15 and entrees cost $37. Call 941-2254 after 4:30 p.m.

Shanghai Bistro chef hosts cooking class

Learn the secrets of award-winning fruit carving and aluminum-foil decorations in a cooking class with Chef Chih-Chieh Chang of Shanghai Bistro at 10 a.m. on July 1. (This event was originally scheduled for June 17.)

The cost is $35 and includes an all-you-can-eat brunch. Call 955-8668.
