Hugo Boss store to open at Waikiki’s ‘Luxury Row’
This is is the high-end German retailer's first store in the islands
Hugo Boss, a high-end German fashion retailer that made its name in men's suits, is opening its first Hawaii store at 2100 Kalakaua Avenue.
The new store will occupy about 5,200 square feet at Waikiki's "Luxury Row," joining Tiffany & Co., Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Tod's, Coach and Bottega Veneta.
Hugo Boss will occupy the two-story, corner retail space to the right of Bottega Veneta, which just opened a few months ago. Hugo Boss will move into space formerly occupied by Boucheron, a high-end store selling watches and jewelry that left around the time Luxury Row was sold last year.
The store is expected to open in mid-August.
It will be one of more than 55 stores across the United States, and will carry Boss's core brands for both men and women, as well as shoes and accessories.
"With the addition of Hugo Boss, 2100 Kalakaua Avenue has the largest collection of luxury brands in a single shopping destination on Waikiki," said Robert Siegel, CEO of Metropole Realty Advisors.
Metropole Realty and Heller Properties of New York bought Luxury Row for $156 million from Lehman Brothers early last year.
The center has for most of its existence had two vacancies since Honolulu-based Honu Group developed it in 2002. With the arrival of Hugo Boss, it now has only one vacancy.
Metropole specializes in luxury retail property acquisitions, development, and leasing. Its investment portfolio includes prominent properties on New York's Madison Avenue along with Beverly Hill's Rodeo Drive.
