KFVE airs new 'Hot Hawaiian Nights' series

ANOTHER summertime tradition returns to local television, as "Hot Hawaiian Nights" makes its 2006 premiere on KFVE tomorrow.

Once again, KCCN FM-100's Bill "Billy V" Van Osdol, Lina "Lina Girl" Langi and Jason "Pipi" Rezentes host the hour-long program, which will kick off at Ala Moana's Mai Tai Bar and move to different venues in upcoming weeks. Up first is Koa'uka, with B.E.T., Raiatea Helm, Kapena, Maunalua and Aaron Sala also booked for later this summer.

If you miss the live broadcast, "Hot Hawaiian Nights" will repeat on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 p.m. The concert series runs through Aug. 18 ...

THURSDAYS continue to bang as the weather heats up and college kids have more free time. "The Breaks" kicked off last Thursday at Osake, and features half-priced drinks from 9 to 11 p.m. ... "Redda Fire" should be fun this week, since it's the official location for the Israel Vibrations afterparty once they're done playing at Pipeline Cafe ... "Livewire" returns for another monthly installment at Venus Nightclub, with DJs Betty, Mindgame, Packo, Scarrd and friends on the decks ... DJs Euphorik and Da Lion of Judah spin a diverse mix, with 93.1 The Zone's Lisa D on the mic. She tells me the spot gets packed around midnight ...
