'SACS' IN THE AFTERNOON: Lance Rae chilled out with Nicole Henry, left, Darah Dung, Philana Bouvier and Denby Dung after "Sacs in the City," a midday fundraiser benefiting the Junior League of Honolulu, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Ballroom April 29. Rae emceed the luncheon in fine style; Bouvier produced a post-lunch fashion show commemorating Tori Richard's 50th anniversary with a retrospective of Tori Richard designs from 1956 to the current line. Darah and Denby are wearing vintage Tori Richard dresses; a book documenting the history of Tori Richard aloha wear is scheduled for publication later this year.

'BENJAMIN' WINS: Teenage filmmakers Sean Goo, left, Ian Yee and Christopher Matar had reason to celebrate as they partied at the Kahala Hotel & Resort April 30. Their film, "Benjamin," an imaginative look at the odyssey of a $100 bill, had won "Best Cinematography" at the Hawaii Pacific University Student Film Festival & Awards "Shorts on the Rocks" Showcase the day before. The three are students at Honolulu Waldorf High School.

BEDTIME AT THE OCEAN CLUB: Playboy Playmate Courtney Culkin, second from left, was welcomed to the Ocean Club by Piranha Room host Russell Tanoue, left, Adriane Flower and Jason Ulep April 29. The theme was "Playboy Pajama Party," and while Culkin did a fine job representing the magazine, Flower was one of the few partiers who wore anything resembling pajamas or bedroom attire. Tanoue gave the party a new ambience by using beds instead of couches in the upper level of the club. Ulep had a good time celebrating his birthday.

BRANDY'S BACK: Junior Mika caught up with Brandy Leaver, Miss Hawaiian Tropic USA, at the Ocean Club April 29. Leaver said she was delighted to have been one of 10 finalists out of a field of 130 who competed in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant in Las Vegas in mid-April.

ABOUT PSYCHOSIS: Marissa Robello, center, was still covered in stage blood as she relaxed with director Taurie Kinoshita and cast member Ryan Sueoka after giving a convincing performance as a suicidal mental patient in "4.48 Psychosis" at the ARTS @ Marks Garage April 28. The playwright, Sarah Kane, committed suicide in 1999 after finishing the script.
