Wie on '60 Minutes' fields questions on boys, marriage

IN ANSWER to Steve Croft's question on "60 Minutes" Sunday, Michelle Wie said she has no time for boys now. And when asked if she wanted to get married and have kids, she said, "Yeah," but that's "way down the road. I'm only 16. It's probably illegal right now." Michelle is never dull ... MANOA VALLEY Theatre netted $64,000 at its fundraiser at the Hilton Saturday that included more than "A Little Night Music," which was the event's theme. Karen Bumatai produced the musical show featuring Stefanie Smart, Cathy Foy-Mahi, Zenia Moura, Doug Schear, Keoki Kerr, Larry Paxton, Katie Beth Hicks, Mina Osako, Don Conover and Keith Hiraoka. Some of them and other theatrical performers, such as Katie Doyle and Cameron Krainin, had a ball on the dance floor working out to the vocals of Ginai and the music of the hot PBS Little Big Band. Paxton was a dynamo on the dance floor ... Federal Judge Sam King celebrates his 90th birthday Thursday at the Halekulani with about 200 friends. Family DNA livens it up at E&O on Thursdays

IT'S "ALL in the Family" for DNA, a vocal-instrumental group that not only brings enjoyment to guests at E&O Trading Company on Thursday nights, but whose members also are having a good time themselves. "If you're not having fun, well why do it?" says Lloyd Kawakami. The group includes his sons Nick, 23, and Alex, 20, Mom Carla, who has been married to Lloyd for 25 years, says she's the cheerleader. The Thursday I was there, Ron Quong was playing with DNA. Versatility is the key for the group, which plays a mix of Hawaiian, hapa-haole and pop tunes quite well. "We play everything," Lloyd said. It's a relaxed, laid back session. Lloyd's sister Patty Kawakami does an occasional hula. A guest, who could have been a flower child in earlier years and still may be, got up and did her own dance. A guy grabbed E&O's smooth-moving events planner Carol Lin and danced with her ...
