If Saturday's Diamond Head Crater Celebration had a mascot, it could've been Larry Rodrigues talking on a thoroughly modern cell phone while decked out in a tie-dyed shirt that would have been at home at the first crater festival. Rodrigues actually attended that festival in 1969.

For the younger ones in the audience it wasn't so much a day of music as a day in the sunshine. Caden Lair, 8, retained ownership of a football as Kahala Novak Furukawa, 5, gave chase.
