A large tree fell near the Atherton YMCA in the university area, blocking University Avenue near Seaview Avenue. There was no support for the tree as heavy rains softened the ground around the tree trunk and roots. The tree was later removed.

Heavy rains causing flooding on and along Fern St. Adding to the flooding was water, in the canal that channels Makiki Stream, overflowed it's banks at Fern and Punahou St. Mike Knox places doors against his doorways to keep the rising water from entering his work place on Pumehana near Fern.
