Former Star-Bulletin staffer makes it to Oscar's red carpet
It's a long road starting as a Star-Bulletin messenger and making it all the way to the Academy Awards' Red Carpet but
Martha Shade has made that trip. Martha is a regional producer for Network News Service, the consortium of ABC, CBS and Fox, and managed to score a media pass for the Oscars. Martha is a 1995 UH journalism grad. She moved to the mainland in 2001 and worked for NNS at the ABC bureau in Los Angeles and at the CBS network headquarters in New York City. She lived here for 12 years and was a weather and traffic reporter at I-94 and KHVH, and produced news at KGMB and KHNL. At the Oscars, Martha said she was standing on the Red Carpet between
Teri Okita and
Carter Evans, both formerly of KGMB. Teri is seen on the CBS national news, covering events all over the world. Carter is a reporter for KCBS/KCAL in L.A. ...
