Super sized for spring
Are you a big-bag person?
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, is what designers seem to be saying with the introduction of the big, I mean really big, bag.
While there will always be a market for petite pochettes and baguettes, the reality is that many women live out of their purses -- to the point of doubling up with totes and gym bags for that extra pair of shoes, hair dryer, 16-ounce bottle of water, makeup, day planner and emergency goods.
"Bag lady" is not a good look, and designers focusing on problem-solving have made the portable life stylish for all the urban nomads out there.
The new purses start at 16 to 18 inches wide, taking the form of framed or slouchy satchels, or elongated totes roomy enough to pack spare clothes and a toothbrush for women on the move, who never know where their day will take them.
