The most-wanted fugitives list of the U.S. Marshals Service this year includes two men charged with murder and a convicted pedophile who federal agents believe faked his death more than a decade ago.
While some fugitives might appear more dangerous than others, federal officials urge the public to use caution if any of them are spotted.
"Everybody we have on the Hawaii most wanted fugitive list is considered dangerous," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Glenn Ferreira. "They should not be approached."
Anyone with information on these fugitives is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service Warrants Section at 541-3000 or Ferreira at 541-3884. Calls also may be made to CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or by dialing *CRIME on a cellular phone.

Wilfredo Cabel, a 65-year-old Hilo man who was charged with the murder of Hipolito "Boy" Canezo in 1982. Cabel is wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution; law enforcement officials urge use of extreme caution if anyone should come across him. Cabel is believed to have escaped to the Philippines.

John Wilfred Penitani, 27, who was charged with the death of Mikiala Kahalewai in 2004 with co-defendant Ulutunu Faumuina Jr. after both men allegedly beat the victim in retaliation after he urinated on Kahalewai's truck. Penitani was arrested last month in Tonga and awaits extradition.

Arthur Aloanu "Killa" Kahai, 39, who was arrested by Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents on crystal methamphetamine charges in 2004 and jumped bail afterward. A warrant was issued for his arrest last year. He is wanted for violation of pretrial release. Kahai has a history of violence and was arrested for attempted murder in 1988 and then for murder in 1989 by Honolulu police but was never charged.

Michael A. Stevens, 54, also known as Michael A. Cunningham and Michael Andrew Kulhanek. He was charged with one count of second-degree sex assault and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault for a 1993 incident involving a juvenile. He was released on $40,750 bail and then tried to fake his own death by sinking his then-girlfriend's boat to disappear before his trial on April 10, 1995, according to federal officials. Stevens was given probation after being convicted of sexually assaulting three juveniles in 1990.

Dat Xuong Luong, 42, who was convicted and sentenced for heroin distribution in Boston. Though he was released from prison in 2004, federal officials said he violated the terms of his supervised release.

Marc McCabe, 56, was released from a Fort Worth, Texas, prison in 1999 after serving time on a bank fraud case but violated the terms of his supervised release.

Edward Riley Martin Jr., also known as "Popeye", 48, wanted for violation of his supervised release involving a 1999 bank robbery case. He is also believed to be in the Philippines.

Nancy Nguyen, also known as Nancy Patrick, 57, wanted for wire and mail fraud. She is wanted for violation of pretrial release.

Pama Kanehailua, who was wanted for violation of supervised release on a charge of theft of government property.

Marc Yeatts, who was wanted for violation of pretrial release on a charge of narcotics and firearms violations.
