Four people were stabbed in separate incidents during New Year's celebrations.

At least two of the four incidents were related to New Year's parties and fireworks, police said. Four people allegedly responsible for the stabbings have been arrested and three of the injured were taken to the Queen's Medical Center.

The most critical stabbing happened in Pearl City, where a 36-year-old man was sent to the hospital in critical condition just before 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Police said a 37-year-old man was visiting friends who lived on Kaluamoi Drive for the holiday and was driving in a reckless manner. Neighbors confronted the man and they began arguing.

Police say the 37-year-old man stabbed the other man in the lower abdomen with an object that the police have not recovered. Police arrested him for second-degree attempted murder.

Another man was also taken to the hospital after one of his neighbors allegedly stabbed him while he was shooting fireworks. Police say the 26-year-old man was popping fireworks in Kalihi just after midnight yesterday when his 56-year-old, male neighbor allegedly confronted him. The neighbor stabbed the man on the side with an unknown object, police said. He was taken to the hospital in good condition and police arrested the 56-year-old man for second-degree assault.

A man in Kaneohe was also arrested for second-degree assault just before the new year. The 53-year-old man allegedly was drunk and returned to his group home for mentally challenged people. He allegedly started swearing at no one in particular and went into another man's room.

Police say that with a steak knife, the man lunged at a 43-year-old man who also lived in the house. The man dodged the knife but still received a 10-inch cut from it. He refused medical assistance when police came, they said.

The last stabbing of the night happened in Waianae, where a woman, 28, allegedly stabbed her 28-year-old husband in the back with a kitchen knife after an argument at 3:30 a.m.
