Services set for isle Army reservist

Memorial services will be held Saturday at Our Lady of Peace Cathedral for Army Reserve Sgt. Myla L. Maravillosa, who died Saturday in Iraq.
Services will begin at 11 a.m., with a memorial Mass to be said at noon at the cathedral at 1184 Bishop St. A reception will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Inabanga, Bohol, Philippines.
Maravillosa, 24, a Leilehua High School graduate, was a member of the 203rd Military Intelligence Battalion, based in Maryland. She died from injuries suffered when her Humvee was attacked by enemy forces at Al Hawijah, Iraq.
She was born in the Philippines. She attended Leeward Community College before being called to active duty with the Army Reserve.
She is survived by mother Estelita, aunts Bernarda L. Rodrigues and Laurencia C. Lumayag, and cousins Gloria-Ann R., Darlene and William B. Rodrigues Jr., all of Hawaii, and other relatives in the Philippines.
Her mother plans to create a foundation that will help feed malnourished children in Bohol province. Donations may be made to Estelita Maravillosa.
